Celebrating 10 Years of Family Pyrate Day!
Ahoy, families and friends!
At Confetti Park, we believe that childhood should be filled with magic, music, and adventure. That’s why our hearts are full as we announce a very special milestone: This year marks 10 years since we held the first Family Pyrate Day in Algiers Point! Hard to believe!
For a decade (with a few gap years), the shores of the Point have been transformed into a haven for swashbucklers of all ages. But this event is more than just eye patches and tricorn hats—it is a celebration of community, history, and the spirit of “giving back.”

A Partnership Built on Purpose
None of this would be possible without our incredible long-term collaboration with the NOLA Pyrate Society.
If you aren’t familiar with NOLA Pyrate Week, it is an annual 10-day gathering (running from the last weekend of March through the first weekend of April) that proves modern pyrates aren’t just about taking—they are all about giving. Their mission, “Take what ye can, GIVE something back!”, resonates through everything they do. From environmental cleanups and supporting wetlands to rebuilding local neighborhoods, they use the fun of pyrate culture to make a difference.
Why We Love Our Mates
Confetti Park is so incredibly grateful for our friendship and collaboration with the NOLA Pyrate Society. Together, we’ve teamed up to:
- Foster Camaraderie: Bringing neighbors together under the shade of the oaks in Algiers Point for Family Pyrate Day and other special events over the years.
- Collaborate in Music: The pyrates are always willing to lend their voices and their time to Confetti Park Players music projects! Watch Out for the Pirates (Look for them on our upcomin’ album, all about pirates and mermaids!)
- Champion Education & Entertainment: Teaching the rich history of Louisiana’s legendary privateers like Jean Laffite, while keeping the “joie de vivre” alive with songs and stories and lessons in how to talk like a pirate!
A Special Shoutout
We want to send a massive “Huzzah!” and a heartfelt thank you to the leaders of the fleet: Captain John Swallow and QM Seika Hellbound.
Thank you for sailing alongside Confetti Park for these last ten years.
