Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an admission fee for the event?

Not a doubloon! Family Pyrate Day is free and open to the public. We want all our neighbors and fellow travelers to enjoy the music, crafts, and history without breaking the treasure chest.

What should my kids and I wear?

While “landlubber” attire is perfectly fine, we highly encourage pirate costumes! Whether it’s a full captain’s regalia or just a DIY eyepatch and a striped shirt, dressing up makes the treasure hunt and photos even more magical.

Will there be food and drinks available?

Aye! We will have plenty of vittles and libations to keep the crew fed. There will be Caribbean Latin barbecue from Fumó. Kona Ice will be on-site to provide icy treats for the little buccaneers. Bargeboard will sell grog for the 21+ crew.

Is this event appropriate for all ages?

Absolutely. From the melodies of the Confetti Park Players kids choir to the interactive storytelling with the NOLA Pyrate Society, the programming is designed specifically for families and neighbors. The antique shopping at Bargeboard offers a fun, historic atmosphere for the grown-ups!
