November 7, 2015 – Katy Hobgood Ray will attend the annual celebration of Friends of Leadbelly at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Mooringsport, La. North Louisiana musicians will gather at Huddie Ledbetter’s grave to perform his music. A special episode of Confetti Park will be dedicated to this event and the music of Leadbelly.

November 7, 2015 – David Eugene Ray will do a reading and a book signing at the New Orleans Book Festival.

Katy gave a presentation called “Documenting Louisiana children’s music and storytelling traditions.”

March 28, 2016 – It’s NOLA Pyrate Week in New Orleans! At 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 28 at Hubbell Library (725 Pelican), the NOLA Pyrates and Confetti Park will celebrate NOLA Pyrate Week with readings, songs and pirate sayings! Among the pirates in attendance will be Captain John Swallow, Quartermaster Seika Hellbound and other mates.  John “Ol’ Chumbucket” Baur —co-founder o’ International Talk Like A Pirate Day and multi-published author—will read from his new book, Chrissie Warren: Pirate Hunter.

We will travel down the Mississippi River to disembark at the site of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans, Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, and tour the Chalmette Battlefield including the Malus-Beauregard House and the Chalmette Monument before re-boarding for the return cruise.
